The Northwest Arkansas Comic Con is an annual comic book and pop culture convention that takes place in Northwest Arkansas. This two-day event happened on January 14 & 15. 2023 at the Rogers Convention Center on Pinnacle Hills Pkwy in Rogers.

2023 Northwest Arkansas Comic Con Venue Information

Here are a few tips to help you prepare for NWA Comic Con:
Purchase your tickets in advance: Many conventions sell out, so it’s best to buy your tickets early to ensure that you get in. Plus, buying early often saves you money compared to buying at the door.
Plan your schedule: Look at the list of guests, panels, and events on the convention’s website, and decide what you want to see and do. Many conventions offer a schedule of events in advance, so you can plan your day accordingly.
Dress up: Many conventions have a “cosplay” element, where attendees dress up as their favorite characters. You don’t have to dress up, but it can be a fun way to participate in the event.
Bring cash: Many vendors will only accept cash, so it’s a good idea to bring some with you. Plus, some vendors may not have card readers or Wi-Fi, so cash is the only option.

The first annual Format Festival is now in the books and has set the bar for its future events. I was one of the lucky few to attend and was very impressed with the work that went into this production. Overall, the event was excellent and I personally will be giving much more attention on the press side for next year. Let’s walk through the main details you need to know about Format Festival 2022. I will also touch on some of the pros and cons gathered from a few attendees I ran into.

What is Format Festival
Format Festival is a three day music festival located in Bentonville Arkansas, that was held September 23-25, 2022. The event theme combined music, art, and technology with a musical lineup featuring acts like Phoenix, Khruangbin, The War On Drugs, Rüfüs Du Sol and 70+ other performers. The venue hosted two main stages for headliners and several themed areas like “The Smokey’s” (an adult-themed playground), “Nova Heat” (an outdoor nightclub), a barn transformed into a disco, and a three-story venue called “The Cube”. You could find vending and merch stations scattered about the property, large art installations, laser lights, a VIP area for the cool kids, and they even offered hot air balloon rides.

Format Festival 2022 – Bentonville Arkansas
Pros – What Format Festival did right
Entertainment was present! Eye candy in every direction like fog machines, laser lit skies, massive art pieces, visual effects, and even a drone light show. There were plenty of location offering a blend of EDM, jazz, indie rock, and alternative hip-hop at any given point.
Cons – Could improve?
Based on my conversations with about 30+ attendees. Would like to see local entertainers / food trucks involved. The shuttle rides were nice but some mentioned a desire for onsite parking pass options.
Format Festival Sort Review
As a local event promoter who attends festivals like this several times a year, I can tell you from experience this one was…. Expensive! Its nice to see someone willing to invest in such a great event for Northwest Arkansas. Our area needs to host more large festivals like this, so for me, this event is very welcome. Good people, great music, and an overall positive vibe. l personally would like to see more local musicians, artists, and food venders at the next one just to give some love to the area. Overall I think Format did a great job on this event and I’m looking forward to attending the next one.

Bella Vista Fireworks – Over Loch Lomond
The City of Bella Vista’s annual Independence Day fireworks at the Loch Lomond Dam, off Glasgow Road. Free concert will begin at 7:00 P.M. at the Loch Lomond Recreation Complex’s softball field, off Glasgow Road and fireworks and the fireworks show at approximately 9:30P.M. (dusk)
Rogers Fireworks – Rogers High School
The City of Rogers Independence Day Celebration at eh Rogers High School Football Stadium. Live music and concessions will begin at 6:30 P.M and the fireworks show at approximately 9:00P.M. (dusk)
Fayetteville Fireworks – Northwest Arkansas Mall
Uptown Fayetteville Freedom Fireworks at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville. Live music, free bounce house, and face painting will begin at 7:00 P.M and the fireworks show at approximately 9:25P.M.
Bentonville Fireworks – Orchards Park
Bentonville Parks and Recreation is holding their 5th Annual Evening at Orchards Park, Bentonville’s 4th of July Fireworks Celebration. Live music and concessions will begin at 7:00 P.M and the fireworks show at approximately 9:30P.M.
Beaver Lake Fireworks – Visible by Boat Only
Boat only! Ventris Trail’s End Resort fireworks show just South of marker “8” on Beaver Lake, just look for the banners! Fireworks start at 8:00 P.M. an are choreographed to music.
Rogers – Prairie Creek Marina
The fireworks show this year will be on Saturday, July 5th, starting when it gets dark (around 9:00pm). Stop in by boat prior to the fireworks near L-dock for a free live concert with Mike and Grady from 7-9pm.

The Northwest Arkansas Juggling Festival brings local communities together with jugglers from all over the country for a fun-filled weekend of juggling-related madness. Enjoy creative play through games, workshops, social circus, demonstrations, and shows. All skill levels and prop types are welcome. The general public is invited to come watch the activities in the gym and to learn how to juggle for free. All of the festivities will take place in and around historic Eureka Springs, AR, (www.eurekasprings.org/) in conjunction with the Eureka Springs May Festival of the Arts. Don’t worry, though; there will still be lots of late night juggling fun in the woods. The festival camping area and afterparty are located at Green Tree Lodge (560 W. Van Buren; Eureka Springs, AR). The park has a large in-ground heated pool, bathroom/showers, outdoor clubhouse, wood fired pizza oven, camp store and a guest laundry. It is only 1.5 miles from the main festival site and has a trolley stop right at the campground.
All of our learn how to juggle workshops are completely free to the general public. Come find us at the table marked Juggling Academy and we will have you throwing things in no time!
