War Eagle Mill is one of Arkansas’s most charming historic attractions — a working, water-powered gristmill on the banks of the War Eagle River, about 20 minutes east of Rogers. Watch the mill in action, shop for stone-ground whole grains, grab a bite in the café, and stroll the historic one-lane bridge next door.
The Working Gristmill
The current three-story mill was completed in 1973 — the first new gristmill built in Arkansas in nearly a century — on a site with milling history dating back generations. You can see the water wheel turning and the grain being ground, then buy the mill’s own whole-grain flours, meals, and mixes in the gift shop.
The Bean Palace Café & Bakery
The mill’s Bean Palace café and bakery serves down-home favorites like beans and cornbread, club sandwiches, and meatloaf, plus fresh-baked cinnamon rolls, muffins, and cobbler. It’s a cozy stop that makes the drive well worth it.
The Historic War Eagle Bridge
Right beside the mill, the War Eagle Bridge is one of the most photogenic spans in Arkansas — a historic one-lane truss bridge with wooden decking and scenic views of the mill, pond, and river. It’s a favorite photo stop.
The War Eagle Craft Fair
Each year on the third weekend of October, the legendary War Eagle Craft Fair brings 250+ vendors of handcrafted goods to the fields along War Eagle Creek — one of the biggest and best-loved craft fairs in the region. Plan ahead: traffic and crowds are heavy that weekend.
Cost, Hours & Location
Visiting the mill is free (the shop and café are pay-as-you-go). The mill, gift shop, and restaurant are generally open 8:30am–5:00pm daily. It’s at 11045 War Eagle Rd, Rogers — about a 20-minute drive east of town.
