About Loch Lomond
At 477 acres, Loch Lomond is more than twice the size of most of Bella Vista’s other lakes, with a wide main bay for boating and water sports and a maze of secluded coves that anglers love. Like all of the Bella Vista lakes, it’s owned and maintained by the Bella Vista Property Owners Association (POA) and set aside for members and their registered guests. If you’re visiting, the easiest way to get on the water is to stay at a Bella Vista vacation rental whose host can register you for lake access.
Loch Lomond Marina
Loch Lomond is the only Bella Vista lake with a full-service marina. The marina sits off Marina Drive on the lake’s south shore and offers boat and kayak rentals, a bait & tackle shop, gas, boat slips and shoreline mooring, plus a covered fishing dock and a fish-cleaning station. It’s the natural starting point for a day on the water whether you’re renting a pontoon, launching your own boat, or just wetting a line from the dock. Boating & Water Sports
The lake’s large main bay has plenty of room for skiing, tubing, and wakeboarding, while pontoons and kayaks are popular for a slower cruise through the coves. Public launching ramps are located off Stoneykirk Drive, at Tiree Park, and at Granton Park. Small hand-launched craft like kayaks and paddleboards are the easiest way for guests to get out; all motorized boats must be registered with the POA. Swimming is permitted at your own risk — the POA encourages the buddy system.
Fishing
Loch Lomond is widely considered the best fishing lake in Bella Vista. Its coves hold the strongest largemouth bass population of any local lake, and anglers also catch bluegill, redear (shellcracker), sizable crappie, and some very large catfish. The covered dock and fish-cleaning station at the marina make it easy to fish from shore or clean your catch afterward. An Arkansas fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older, and everyone on the water must be a POA member or a registered guest.
