Coler Mountain Bike Preserve is one of Bentonville’s crown jewels — roughly 20 miles of world-class trail tucked into a scenic valley just a mile west of downtown. With riding for every level, a trail-accessible café, and a ride-from-your-tent campground, Coler is a bucket-list stop in the “Mountain Biking Capital of the World.”
The Trails
Coler packs about 20 miles of singletrack into its valley. The Westside is best for beginner and intermediate riders, while the Eastside is built for advanced and expert riders, with technical features and flow. Paved paths connect it all, and it ties into the wider OZ Trails network. For detailed maps, difficulty ratings, and conditions, see our sister site NWA Bike Trails.
The Hub & Airship at The Homestead
At the heart of the preserve, Airship at The Homestead is a one-of-a-kind, trail-accessible open-air café and beverage bar. Roll up for world-class coffee, refreshments, and local craft beer, and hang out on the rooftop patio and beer garden. There are even play structures and a refurbished barn for kids — making it fun for non-riders too. For more of the region’s breweries, see NWA Brew (Bentonville).
Camping
Coler lets you ride straight from your campsite onto the trails. The campground offers 16 hike-in tent sites, 5 camper-van spots, and 1 ADA-accessible site, plus modern amenities: hot showers, a bike wash and repair station, fire pits, hammock stands, and wagons for hauling gear. It’s a true bike-in, bike-out basecamp.
Cost, Hours & Access
The trails are free to ride and the preserve is open 24 hours. Camping is reserved and paid. The preserve is managed by the Peel Compton Foundation.
Parking, Accessibility & Location
There’s on-site parking, and the preserve is about a mile from downtown Bentonville — easy to reach by car, bike, or the Greenway. Note that the mountain-bike trails are natural-surface; the campground includes one ADA-accessible site, and paved paths reach the café.
